The Fulani people
FULANI comprise of many different groups: 1. Fulanawa ( from Muhammad Fulani ) 2. Falatawa ( from Abubakar Falata ) 3. Durdawa ( from Umaru Durdo ) 4. Torankawa ( from Usmanu Toro ) 5. Gurdawa ( from Aliyu Gurdo ) 6. Sullubawa or Shafilawa ( from Fatima Sippowo, married to a Roman by the name of SILSULU). Though Roman, but Sheik Uthman bn Fodio directed that they be counted as Fulani. They were all descendents of Uqba bn Aamir Abu Ubaidah bn Aljarrah, who married Maryam nicknamed Bajjo Mango (meaning the only child of her parents), daughter of the King of Spain Mazfel bn Merseils; a Roman by tribe but a Jew by religion. He converted to Islam without a fight when Uqbah received Flag from Amri bn Asi, the Governor of Egypt during the Reign of Caliph Umar bn Kattab, to wage Jihad on Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco & the other lands nearby.
